Storing Data on the iPod

What is your iPod? It is a device that plays data that has been stored into your computer. The data is downloaded from the internet onto your computer into the IPOD software. There you can organize it and then transfer it to the device for easy listening.

It can be daunting to use the iPod for the first time. You will want to know how to store your data and how to make sure that you can find the songs that you want when you want to listen to them. As iPods will play up to 7,500 songs, 1,000 videos and store 25,000 photos, things can get hectic if you do not have good organization for your data.

Take a look at your IPOD software on your computer. You will see the control folder which will contain your play list information. There is also a place for your text files. Text files are notes that you will take with your iPod. Although an iPod is not like a PDA, it can be used to take brief notes

You can also store contact information on your iPod. This is a great way to store cell phone numbers, addresses and e-mail addresses of your friends and family. Open up your folder and you can store your contacts easily and also change them when necessary.

In addition, you can create sub folders. The subfolders can be used to store notes into categories. This can be useful if you are storing a variety of different notes. You can have a folder for work, school, personal - whatever you like.

Your play lists can also be categorized. Your play lists consist of the entertainment on your iPod such as your music and videos. Photos will find themselves in another photo and can also have sub folders. You can organize your IPOD data in many different ways so that it makes it easier for you to download it onto your device.

You have a storage device on the iPod itself that will hold the transferred data. The storage drive is usually large for an iPod, although there are smaller iPods that hold less songs and videos. In order to transfer your data to your iPod device, you need to connect the device to the computer and allow iTunes to open. Once this does, you can then start transferring what you want from your software online to your portable device.

There is also a way that you can automatically update your iPod with your new songs on your play lists. If you hit Enable Disc Use, you can automatically upload songs and videos that are on your play list to your device instead of doing so manually. This makes it a bit quicker and convenient.

You can copy photos from your iPod to your computer and vice versa. This makes sharing the photos a breeze and also allows you to create albums and photo streams. This is one of the best ways to share photos of family and friends.

Once you get used to the concept of storing the data for your iPod with the use of your software and then transferring it to the device, you will realize that your iPod is far from being just an innovative music playing device.
